Island Spirit Charter - Koh Samui Base
Our Island Spirit Charter base on Koh Samui is in Fisherman's Village, Bophut, on the north side of the island. The charter base is a mere 15 minutes away from Samui International Airport.
Our sailing yachts are moored off the middle of the beach, near Shades Restaurant and the Hansar Resort. We'll meet you to load your gear onto a dinghy and assist you to your yacht. If you have a large crew, we can send them out to organize the yacht while the captain and one crew member stay onshore to conduct the Area Briefing and then take you out to the mooring for your yacht briefing.
Since we're not on a pier or in a marina, organizing can be a bit more challenging, so staying in touch with your arrival time is essential.
Fisherman's Village offers various services, including accommodation for all budgets, dining, and beach bars, Bophut Beach, and shopping for apparel and souvenirs (limited provisions). It's only a 10-minute drive to the big markets, Makro, Big C, and Tesco Lotus.
We recommend arriving a day or two before your sailing holiday to unwind from your travels and experience Koh Samui. This allows us to start the Area briefings a little early and get you on the water by 3 pm. Explore Koh Samui as your sailing yacht charter holiday will likely be spent exploring the other islands to the north and Ang Thong National Park to the west.
Koh Samui has something for everyone, from long sandy beaches and a plethora of restaurants to Muay Thai Boxing, jungle hikes.
Getting to the Base on Koh Samui
The safest and quickest way to get to the Island Spirit Base on Koh Samui is to fly to the Samui International Airport. There is also an airport in Surat Thani (URT) but this option will also require a taxi to the ferry, the ferry ride across to Koh Samui and taxi to get to the Charter Base. If you come from somewhere along the southern peninsula in Thailand like Phuket or Krabi you can fly to Koh Samui as above or travel overland to the Raja ferry port in Donsak.
If you’re on Koh Samui before your Yacht Charter holiday you can either arrange a taxi through your accommodation or we can arrange one for you.
