Island Spirit Charter - Koh Chang Base

Our Island Spirit Yacht Charter base on Koh Chang is situated in the fishing village of Ao Salakphet on the island's south-east side, aptly named the "end of the road." The base office is located at the Salakphet Seafood & Resort, with boats launched from the floating pier just past the restaurant. While Ao Salakphet offers limited services beyond accommodation, it provides a unique and serene setting.

For a more immersive experience, arrive a day or two before your sailing holiday to unwind and explore Koh Chang. Staying on the south-west side allows you to experience the hustle of this rapidly developing island before transitioning to the tranquility of your luxury yacht charter holiday in the more serene southern islands.

Alternatively, stay at the relaxing Salakphet Seafood & Resort or opt for a more local experience in the fishing village. There are charming places such as The Mangrove Hideaway for a Western boutique experience or the Thai-style Baan Chan Lay. Kayak through mangroves or ride a bike to the temple along flat village roads. This corner of Koh Chang is relatively isolated for now, offering a peaceful escape.

Just a few kilometers away is The Spa Koh Chang, featuring a nice pool, excellent spa, alternative food choices, yoga, and cleansing programs—an ideal stop after an indulgent holiday as a sailor.

The Island Spirit Base offers moorings for overnight stays, and we can refill your water tanks if you stop by. Notify us of your arrival, head for a mooring ball, and our crew will bring you to the dock when ready. Water for your tanks is also available at Koh Rang Marine Park Headquarters.
